ROYE REVIEWS SEC's MUTUAL FUND REGULATORY AGENDA

Paul Roye, the director of the SEC's Division of Investment Management, in a speech at an ALI-ABA conference reviewed the reviewed some of the major issues that are likely to be on the Commission's agenda in the coming weeks and months, which include:
- Valuation;
- Portfolio Pumping and Window Dressing;
- Conflicts Generated by New Business Opportunities (Including Private Account and Hedge Fund Business Operated At Mutual Fund Complexes);
- Improving Shareholder Communications;
- Improving Shareholder Communications;
- Advertising;
- New Products and Technologies (Including Web-Based Products and Exchange-Traded Funds); and
- Affiliated Transactions.
Mr. Roye also gave an overview of the regulation of investment companies.
