CALIFORNIA ADVISER CHARGED WITH DEFRAUDING CLIENTS

June 7, 2001

The SEC obtained an injunction against Reed Slatkin who is alledged to have defrauded as many as 500 clients. Mr. Slatkin is an unregistered adviser located in Santa Barbara, California.

The SEC alleges that Mr. Slatkin misappropriated over $10 million of client assets. He is also alleged to violate the registration provisions of the Investment Advisers Act by not registering with the SEC.
